Carol says she is successful because she constantly sets herself daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. She asks the team what goals they set. Some suggest personal goals (such as not getting upset), others are more task-oriented. Carol distinguishes between short-term and longer-term goals and introduces the team to the goal acronym: SMART. Sam says S is for Specific ́ђأ goals should not be vague (such as aiming to be better) ́ђأ and offers WH questions: ́ђبWhat do I want?́ђة ́ђبWhy do I want it?́ђة and ́ђبWhat steps will I take to get there?́ђة Steve adds that people should also ask ́ђبWho do I need to help me get there?́ђة and ́ђبWhen will this happen?́ђة Goals also need to be Measurable and Achievable. Goals must be Relevant and achieved within a Timeframe. Carol invites the team to set themselves a SMART goal. She introduces them to PEA: Persist, Evaluate and Ask. A mentor can be instrumental in achieving goals; one should ask for help. Dion announces that his SMART goal is to be President of the United States.
